Common Types of Outcome Evaluation Designs for Environmental Approaches
As stated earlier, outcome evaluations describe and document the extent to which the objectives of a prevention project have been met. Depending on the environmental approach, evaluations may measure such issues as the status of the target audience regarding awareness, knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors; community status about an environmental issue; the level of community mobilization about an issue; local policies and laws regarding alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drug sales, use, and purchase; and the level of collaboration among community agencies.
