Task 3:  Deliver Effective Trainings

The content being delivered must be current, accurate, and relevant to the needs and work of staff and volunteers. The content should be focused and in depth. Do not overwhelm the audience with too much information, but provide sufficient depth about relatively narrow topic areas.

Increase and sustain the level of interest among people in the audience by providing trainings using multiple methods, such as quizzes, brainstorming tasks, working in groups and pairs, and providing videos and handouts. Seek to identify trainers who have a track record of providing trainings that have been well-received. Provide training handouts that are meaningful, practical, and consistent with the training. Videotape the event so that the training can be viewed by people who were absent and people who will join the project later.
