There are numerous Internet sites that provide information regarding grants and funding. The following represent a sample of outstanding sources of information and assistance.
The Grantmanship Center provides grantsmanship training and low-cost publications to nonprofit organizations and government agencies. It publishes The Grantsmanship Center Magazine, has a library of winning grant proposals, and provides a proposal planning and writing guide.
The Foundation Center provides grantsmanship training, proposal writing seminars, hints on finding appropriate funders, an online learning lab for proposal development, recommendations for foundation research, and databases of national and regional directories of foundations.
GrantsNet is an Internet application tool created by the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Grants Management for finding and exchanging information about Health and Human Services and other Federal grant programs. GrantsNet serves the general public, the grantee community, and grant-makers.
Helping.Org provides comprehensive online resources and tools to help nonprofits integrate the power of the Internet into their strategic planning and to organize, recruit, raise funds, and publicize their mission and successes online. Nonprofits can register their programs on the Website’s volunteer and donation databases, enabling individuals to volunteer or donate funds.
Join Together is a national resource for communities fighting substance abuse and gun violence. It provides reports, newsletters, and community action toolkits; convenes panels that examine and recommend changes in public policies and practices related to substance abuse; provides technical assistance; and provides valuable information regarding funding opportunities for prevention efforts.
Polaris Grants Central provides free basic information in the form of directories, lists, hints and tips, resources, and articles for grant seekers.
